ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Music for Literacy blends storytelling, rhythm and song to strengthen literacy, language skills and reading confidence. Delivered in partnership with the British Library and local cultural centres, this approach uses music-based techniques, choral reading, lyrical adaptation, call-and-response, to turn reading into musical experience. Learners deepen their vocabulary, fluency and phonological awareness, while engaging creatively and socially in accessible cultural spaces.
Music enhances memory, engagement, and learning. By embedding song into literacy education, we make reading more accessible and exciting for all learners while empowering teachers with innovative, evidence-based strategies.

Co-developed with educators and researchers, this programme integrates creative learning techniques to support both students and teaching staff in fostering a lifelong love of reading.
