CREATIVE SKILLS PATHWAYS

Intergenerational Workforce & Skills Development

Creative Skills Pathways is IMM’s structured intergenerational workforce and confidence-building framework, supporting people of all ages to develop skills, build relationships and access real pathways into volunteering, training and employment.

Delivered across London, Manchester and the South of England, the programme responds to rising youth unemployment, workforce shortages and growing social isolation. By intentionally bringing generations together, we create environments where creativity, experience and opportunity flow across age groups. Creative Skills Pathways is delivered through a range of thematic programmes, including youth leadership, community innovation labs, music for literacy, environmental action and intergenerational workforce development, each translating creativity into real-world skills, confidence and progression.

Through hands-on training, mentoring, shadowing, accredited modules and live placements, participants gain transferable skills and the confidence to move forward in education, employment and community leadership.

Intergenerational Creative Skills Workforce Programme

Building confidence, skills and real pathways into employment.

A structured seven-stage programme combining intergenerational mentoring, creative collaboration and employer engagement to support real progression into volunteering, training and employment.

Community Innovation Labs

Co-designing solutions, building leadership and community enterprise. Our Community Innovation Labs bring residents of all ages together to identify local challenges and design creative, practical solutions. Participants develop leadership, collaboration and project development skills while strengthening community voice and intergenerational connection.

Youth Social Action & Leadership

Developing confident, socially aware young leaders. This programme supports young people to build confidence, civic awareness and intergenerational understanding through music and creative action. Participants learn how to identify community needs, develop ideas and take meaningful action.

Music For Literacy & Learning

Strengthening communication, confidence and foundational skills. Our schools-based programme uses music as a tool to improve literacy, communication and engagement. By embedding creativity into learning, we help children develop essential skills that support long-term educational and social outcomes.

Creative Environmental Action

Building awareness, responsibility and collective action. Through music and creative collaboration, participants explore environmental themes and develop projects that promote sustainability, awareness and shared responsibility across generations.
