Why
Talking Generations?
At some point in life, almost everyone experiences loneliness or feels disconnected.
It could be because you've recently moved, become a new parent, retired, started university, lost someone close, are caring for a loved one, or simply haven't found your community yet. Children, young people, adults and older people can all experience loneliness. Often, the first step isn't finding a service. It's starting a conversation.
We believe every conversation matters.
What is Talking Generations?
Talking Generations is an initiative that encourages people of all ages to connect through simple, meaningful conversations. Whether it's between neighbours, friends, family members, colleagues, volunteers or complete strangers meeting for the first time, conversations help build understanding, reduce loneliness and strengthen communities. At its core, it aims to raise awareness of how different generations can come together to create more cohesive communities, combat ageism and improve mental health for all.
